Despite the refocus on smaller crossover utility vehicles, the full-sized Escalade remains a popular component to the Cadillac division. For 2012, the Cadillac Escalade is outfitted in accordance to a base, Luxury, Premium or Platinum Edition trim level. A premium utility vehicle, each 2012 Cadillac Escalade includes a healthy dose of standard amenities. Leather seating, power liftgate, Bose 5.1 Cabin Surround Sound, tri-zone climate control and OnStar are noted equipment on all 2012 Escalades. Offering up to 8 passenger seating, the Cadillac Escalade can also fit 108.9 cubic feet of cargo if a motorist discounts the 2nd and 3rd row seating. Power for the 2012 Cadillac Escalade continues to emerge from a 6.2 liter V-8 engine. With 403 horsepower and 417 pounds-feet of torque, the 2012 Cadillac Escalades power is guide through either rear wheel or four-wheel drive using a 6-speed automatic transmission. A lavish assortment of accessories and dress up pieces to the 2012 Escalade, the Platinum Edition model enhances the exterior and interior aesthetics with touches such as 22-inch alloy wheels and Tehama aniline leather. Also added onto the 2012 Escalade Platinum Edition model is Magnetic Ride Control, dual DVD screens and full LED headlights.
The Cadillac Escalade has a lot in common with GM's other full-size SUVs-- the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban and GMC Yukon/XL, underneath--but you wouldn't know it inside. The Escalade's cabin is one of the most impressive, opulent interiors offered in an SUV, and ride quality and overall interior quality are top-notch. All the more impressive is the way the Escalade performs and handles considering its size and weight. The Hybrid version, although more expensive, doesn't give up any of the standard Escalade's luxury, handling, or ride quality, but does manage to get up to 50% better fuel economy.
The Escalade enters 2012 with no significant changes from the 2011 model.
The Escalade includes three different models--the standard Escalade and extended-length Escalade ESV, which are luxurious sport-utility vehicles; and the Escalade EXT, which includes most of the attributes of the Escalade SUV but offers a pickup bed.
