A vehicle given an all-new look and stature in the 2011 model year as Infiniti�s largest car, the M37 is the V-6 version of the flagship sedan. Within the exterior sculpture corresponding to a 0.27 drag coefficient, the 2012 Infiniti M37 features HID headlamps, chrome door handles and power sliding moonroof. The Infiniti M37 rides on 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels surrounded by all-season, performance-rated tires. Powered by a superbly powered 3.7 liter V-6 engine, the 330 horsepower 2012 Infiniti M37 delivers performance while also furnishing acceptable fuel economy for a full-sized luxury sedan. In rear-wheel drive trim, the Infiniti M37 achieves an average fuel run of 22 miles per gallon. 2012 Infiniti M37x models can be just over 20 miles per gallon of premium gasoline. The interior of all 2012 Infiniti M37 sedans deliver luxury car comfort with leather seating, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth connectivity and a 6-speaker audio system featuring XM satellite radio. A Bose Studio Surround sound system, intelligent cruise control and Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation system are available options on the 2012 Infiniti M37 sedan.

What's new for 2012?

For 2012, the Infiniti M gains a hybrid model--the very first gas/electric hybrid from Infiniti. It features a 3.5L V6 mated to an electric motor that makes a combined 360 horsepower. It needs no plug-in charging for its battery packs and can run on either powerplant separately, or both together. Not other changes have been made to the M line for 2012.

Model Review

The 2012 Infiniti M is now offered in three different models: M35h, M37 and M56. A 330-horsepower, 3.7L V6 engine is included with the M37, while the M56 upgrades to a 420-hp, 5.6L direct-injected V8. The all-new M35h features a 360-horsepower 3.5L V6 and electric motor combined, and can run on either one of its power sources at any given time. All models come with a 7-speed automatic transmission that has downshift rev matching and manual shift control. All-wheel drive is available in a road-performance-oriented system that can send up to 50 percent of torque to the front wheels.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance. The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less chance of injury. Passenger Crash Grade: Similar to the driver crash grade, only now the focus is on the passenger. Rollover Resistance: Simulates an emergency lane change to measure the likelihood of a vehicle rolling over. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less risk of rollover. Side Impact Crash Test - Front: Focuses on the front side of a vehicle. It simulates crashes that can occur in intersections by striking a 3,015-pound weight against the side of a vehicle at 38.5 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 5 percent or less chance of injury. Side Impact Crash Test - Rear: Similar to the front side impact test only now the focus is on the rear passenger.
