The 2012 Jaguar XF is a mid-size luxury sports sedan available with three different engines; a standard 5.0-liter V8 engine (385 hp/380 lb-ft of torque), optional 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine (470 hp/424 lb-ft torque), and a performance-oriented 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine (510 hp/461 lb-ft of torque). RWD paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission enables the XF to achieve fuel mileage within an EPA estimated range of 15 mpg city to 23 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include LED accents, bi-function HID xenon headlamps, heated exterior mirrors, push-button start, steering-wheel mounted controls, heated/cooled seats, navigation, hands-free phone capabilities, and CD/DVD player. Safety is comprised of a protective body shell, advanced airbags, blind-spot monitor, automatic speed limiter, tire pressure monitoring, emergency brake assist, electronic brake force distribution, anti-lock braking, traction control, dynamic stability control, and cornering brake control. The XF is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
Jaguar's 2012 XF, with its sleek, coupe-like shape, sport-sedan performance and stunning interior, competes very well with sport sedans such BMW's 5-Series, the Lexus GS and Mercedes-Benz' E-Class. Like other Jaguar models, the XF promises a uniquely British personality compared to other luxury cars. The high-performance XFR is a very serious performer, competing ably among world-class tuner sedans from both BMW's M division and Mercedes-Benz' AMG shop.
The XF's trims get a little reworked. The XF now offers a base, Portfolio, Supercharged and XFR.
All Jaguar XF models get one of a range of 5.0L V8s, offered via four trim levels: base, Portfolio, Supercharged and XFR. The base XF models sport 385 horses from the naturally-aspirated engine, while Supercharged versions get a 470-horsepower version and the XFRs receive one that produces 510. Even in normally aspirated tune, the XF has strong acceleration on par with some of the fastest German sports sedans. According to Jaguar, the standard XF can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds, while the top-of-the-line XFR can do it in just 4.7 seconds.
