Maybach is all about extraordinary luxury, and the 57 and 62 are at the top of their class when it comes to opulence. The base 57 and 62 feature V12 5.5L twin-turbo engines, and the S models get a 6.0L version of that engine that allow a chauffeur to pilot a Maybach from 0-60 in less than 6 seconds. Folding tables and fabric window curtains are the kinds of standard equipment a Maybach owner can expect for his or her money. Both the 57 and 62 are well-placed against competition from Bentley and Rolls-Royce-- Maybach piles on more luxury and opulent performance than anyone else.
After a host of changes for the 2011 model year, Maybach models remain unchanged for 2012.
Every Maybach is built to the buyer's specifications, and the options and customizations are seemingly endless. There are four models: two short-wheelbase versions, and two long-wheelbase versions. The 57 measures 5.7 meters (225 inches) and the 62 measures 6.2 meters (243 inches). The base models feature a 5.5L V12 twin turbo engine that makes 543 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. The 57S and 62S upgrade that engine to a 6.0L V12 twin turbo producing 620 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. All of these configurations are mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.
