The 2012 Porsche Cayman is a mid-engine, RWD, sports coupe that is powered by a 2.9-liter flat-6 engine that produces 265 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the S trim grants the driver 3.4-liter flat-6 engine that produces 320 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. For an even greater boost in performance Porsche offers a R trim level that loses unnecessary weight and tweaks the same engine on the S trim to raise performance to 330 hp, for a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds. New for 2012 is the Cayman S Black Edition which yields the same specs as the Cayman R trim but coats the vehicle's interior and exterior in a black finish. All Cayman models are RWD and come standard with a 6-speed manual transmission but can be upgraded to a 7-speed PDK transmission. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 19 mpg city to 29 mpg highway, depending on engine and transmission selection. Features include navigation, Bluetooth� connectivity, surround sound-system, park assist, and universal audio interface. Safety features are comprised of a two-stage airbag system, advanced braking system, stability management, and anti-theft protection. The Cayman is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
