Unchanged for 2012, the Toyota Sequoia is a seven passenger full-size SUV offered in RWD and 4WD drivetrains. Three different engines are available; a standard 4.6-liter V8 that produces 310 hp/327 lb-ft of torque, optional 5.7-liter V8 that produces 381 hp/401 lb-ft of torque and a FlexFuel variant of the upgraded V8 engine. All engines are paired to the same 6-speed automatic transmission that enables the Sequoia to achieve an EPA estimated 14 mpg city and 19 mpg highway. Features include voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system, backup camera, 14-speaker sound system, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, 4-disc CD changer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance. The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH. A five-star rating means there is 10 percent or less chance of injury. Passenger Crash Grade: Similar to the driver crash grade, only now the focus is on the passenger. Side Impact Crash Test - Front: Focuses on the front side of a vehicle.
