The 2013 Jaguar XK is a performance-oriented luxury grand tourer available in coupe and soft-top convertible trim levels. The base XK is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 385 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque. Upgrading to the XKR model grants the driver a supercharged version of the base engine, producing 510 hp and 461 lb-ft of torque. For even greater performance Jaguar offers a XKR-S model, tuning the performance of the supercharged V8 to yield 550 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time of 4.2 seconds. All models utilize a front engine-RWD layout and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 15 mpg city to 24 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Features include bi-function HID xenon headlamps, 20-inch wheels, heated exterior mirrors with auto-dimming electrochromic glass, front/rear parking sensors, steering-wheel mounted controls, hands-free phone capabilities, and touch-screen navigation. Safety is comprised of rollover protection, emergency brake assist (EBA), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control (TCS), dynamic stability control (DSC), cornering brake control, advanced airbags, and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS). The XKR-S has also been introduced as an ultra-high performance model, positioned above the XKR. Model Review

The Jaguar XK is available in three different trims, each defined by their engine. The basic XK comes with a 385 horsepower 5.0L V8, the XKR comes with a supercharged version of the 5.0L V8 making 510 horsepower and the XKR-S uses a tuned version of the supercharged engine to produce a staggering 550 horsepower. Performance from any of the models is good, but the XKR and XKR-S are capable of supercar-like acceleration. All three models can be equipped as either a coupe or a convertible, with convertibles costing about $6,000 more in each case. The only transmission available on any XK is a 6-speed automatic with steering wheel mounted paddles.
