Now equipped with standard power folding exterior mirror, the 2013�Kia Forte�is a compact sedan that utilizes a front engine FWD layout. The base Forte is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 156 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque. The Forte is available in three different body styles: a sedan, a 5-door hatch or a 2-door coupe, dubbed the Forte 'Koup' by Kia. All three body styles utilize one of two different 4-cylinder engines, a 2.0L, which makes 156 horsepower, or a 2.4L that produces 173. Both engines come available with either an automatic or a manual transmission. allowing the Kia Forte to produce impressive mileage for a non-hybrid car. When equipped with the Eco package the Forte Manages to produce 30 mpg in combined city/highway driving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance. The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH.
