Refreshed with a new exterior and interior, the 2013 Land Rover LR2 is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 240 hp. 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrains are paired with a 6-speed Command Shift automatic transmission that enables the driver to make manual sequential changes. Off-roading features include Terrain Response system, standard all-wheel-drive, and Gradient Release Control. Other features include rear-park assist, tailgate spoiler, panoramic sunroof, keyless start, bi-xenon headlamps, air-conditioning, touch-screen DVD satellite navigation system, auxiliary audio connection, and a 12-speaker sound system. Safety is comprised of front airbags, side curtain airbags, emergency brake assist (EBA), anti-lock braking (ABS), traction control (TCS), and electronic brake force distribution (EBD). The LR2 is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.
The 2013 Land Rover LR2 has a little more off-road capability and ruggedness than are commonly found in most other compact crossovers, this being one of its most appealing attributes. It's also quite maneuverable and easy to park, thanks to its compact size. Other reasons for picking the LR2 include its distinctive, boxy exterior, passenger- and cargo-friendly interior as well as an extensive set of luxury features. Terrain Response and the host of electronic safety, traction and off-road aids make it a rugged, safe choice for any roads, trails or weather there may be.
The LR2 gets a minor redesign for 2013. The biggest mechanical change is a new, redesigned engine. Displacing 2.0 liters, the new 4-cylinder is turbocharged, increasing both power output and fuel economy over the engine it replaces. The LR2 also gets a mildly updated exterior with a new grille and LED taillights. Inside, the changes are more substantial, with a large 7-inch touch screen being the most noticeable part of the redesigned dash board.
All LR2s are powered by a 240-hp turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with full-time 4-wheel drive. While the suspension is tuned for comfort and to allow some off-road ability, it handles and maneuvers reasonably well in tight city spaces as well.
