The MINI Cooper Coupe and Roadster models are among the smallest vehicles for sale in the U.S., yet they're true sports cars in many ways, offering quick acceleration and excellent, go-kart-like handling. The Roadster brings top-down thrills no matter how fast its driven. MINI claims the coupe is the fastest-accelerating model from the brand ever and it has the highest top speed in the brand's history.
For 2013, Bluetooth has been made standard; it replaces SIRIUS Satellite Radio, which is now optional at $250, and includes a one-year subscription. The Technology Package now includes SIRIUS Satellite Radio, a center armrest with iPhone adapter and Comfort Access for MINI Connected features.
Base MINI Cooper Coupe and Roadster models are powered by a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine, making 121 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. It has Valvetronic technology for fully variable valve control, in order to maximize fuel economy and sharpen engine response. The Roadster can get to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 124 mph, yet it achieves EPA ratings of 27 mpg city, 35 highway.
