Now featuring a GTS model with revamped styling, the 2013 Porsche Panamera is a luxury sport sedan powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 300 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Opting for Panamera S trim�grants�the driver a boost up to 400 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. For even more performance the Panamera Turbo (S) trim offers a 500 hp (550 hp) producing 4.8-liter V8 engine and the. Hybrid enthusiasts have the option of the Panamera S Hybrid trim which utilizes a 3.0-liter V6 hybrid engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to produce 333 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. The Panamera comes standard with RWD, but can be upgraded to AWD by opting for a Panamera 4 or Panamera 4S trim. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway (hybrid fuel mileage can be expected to be higher) thanks to a standard 6-speed manual and optional 7-speed PDK transmission. Features include navigation, surround sound system, rear seat entertainment system, zonal climate control, automatic entry, and rear-view camera. Safety features are comprised of stability management, anti-lock braking (ABS), advanced airbag protection, and anti-theft protection. The Panamera is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.

For 2013, Porsche adds another trim level to the Panamera lineup. The new GTS slots into the mix above the Panamera 4S and below the Turbo. It offers an upgraded version of the direct-injected 4.8L V8 found in the 4S, and with some revised internal bits, the engine is good for 430 hp--or 30 more horses and 15 more ft-lb of torque than the similiar unit found in the 4S. The GTS benefits from the Turbo's fantastic brakes and is also distinguishable thanks to a revised front fascia. It is priced at $109,000.

Model Review

The Panamera fills the gap in Porsche's line between sports coupes like the 911 and the Cayenne SUV, offering high speed touring for four in a comfortable and spacious package. It's especially wide at 76 inches, and its 195-inch length and 55.8-inch height make for plenty of interior space. The car's rear hatch gives good access to its 15.7-cubic-feet of storage space. Flop the seatbacks down, and there's room for 44.6-cubic-feet of luggage.
