Relatively unchanged for 2013, the Volkswagen GTI is a FWD performance compact hatchback available in three-door and five-door trim levels. The GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time of 6.8 seconds. Transmissions consists of a base 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed DSG� automatic transmission. Fuel mileage is an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 31 mpg highway. A cross differential system and track tuned suspension enable the GTI to handle light and grip corners. Features include bi-xenon headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, multi-function steering wheel, keyless access with push button start, leather seats, navigation system, touch-screen stereo and hands-free phone capability. Safety is comprised electronic stability control (ESC), Intelligent Crash Response, six airbags with side curtain protection, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and hydraulic brake assist (HBA). The GTI is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
