Features include halogen headlights, tire pressure monitoring system, outside temperature indicator, 12-volt socket, and a premium 6-disc CD changer. Safety is comprised of full-size driver and passenger airbags, head/neck side airbags, hill start assist, electronic stability program, electronic brake force distribution, hydraulic dual-circuit brake system, integral safety seats, and auto-activation of the central locking while driving. It may not seem like much, but with its small body and a curb weight of less than 1,900 lb, it hardly matters. Planned for later in the year is a new plug-in fortwo Electric Drive model, offered in either coupe or cabriolet body style. Power will come from an electric magneto motor rated at 74 hp and 90 ft-lb of torque.
