Benefits of Driving a 2014 Audi A7 Hatchback

From a design standpoint, the Audi A7 is a standout in the market; while competitors such as the Acura ZDX and BMW 5-Series GranTurismo come close, the A7 is the least 'SUV' in this segment. Inside, the A7 is a paragon of great design, as its cabin feels lush and detailed without being functionally complex. Even so, the A7 is very roomy, with enough space for adults in back.

What's new for 2014?

Audi has introduced some significant changes to its A7 5-door. A new 3.0L clean-diesel TDI joins the 3.0T in the lineup, powered by a direct-injected turbocharged V6 producing 240 hp and 428 ft-lb of torque. The car promises an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city and 38 mpg on the highway. Both A7 models are now 5-seaters, and each starts at the Premium Plus equipment level. The powerful S7 remains a 4-seater. Joining the lineup above the S7 is the all-new RS7. Its 560-hp 4.0L V8 makes it the most powerful RS model to date, and can scoot the sleet 5-door to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Finally, an available Black Optic and bicolor package for the A7 and S7 features a black optic grille with high-gloss surround and gloss-black window surround.

Model Review

For 2014, the Audi A7 is offered in two models: 3.0T, which features a direct-injection, supercharged V6 with 310 hp and 325 ft-lb of torque; and 3.0 TDI, which features a turbo direct-injection clean diesel V6. That unit produces 240 hp and 428 ft-lb of torque. Power is put to the ground through an 8-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic manual controls, for those who'd rather shift gears themselves. It responds well, giving decisive downshifts in fast driving, or smooth, well-masked upshifts in gentle driving. Fuel economy ratings for the A7 3.0T are estimated at 18 mpg city, 28 highway, while the A7 3.0 TDI returns an estimated 24 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. Audi claims the A7 3.0T can get to 60 mph in a quick 5.4 seconds.

Audi Certified Pre-Owned Warranty  help
Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
To be eligible for Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) status, vehicles generally must be recent models with relatively low mileage. CPO vehicles must also pass a detailed inspection, outlined by the manufacturer, which is measured by the number of inspected points.
Warranty coverage can vary from one manufacturer to the next. While most certified pre-owned programs transfer and extend the existing new car warranty terms, others offer a warranty that simply represents an additional year and mileage value. Always check with the manufacturer for the specific warranties they offer.
Common features and benefits of Certified Pre-Owned warranties include:
Age/Mileage Eligibility
To even be considered for certification, a car must be a recent model year and have limited mileage. The exact requirements are established by individual manufacturers.
Lease Term Certified
Some manufacturers offer certified pre-owned cars for lease. The length of the lease is often shorter than a new car lease, but it will cost you less.
Point Inspection
These inspections entail a comprehensive vehicle test to ensure that all parts are in excellent working order. The point inspection list is simply a numbered list of exactly what parts of the car are examined. While many inspections range from a 70- to 150-point checklist, most are very similar and are performed using strict guidelines. Ask your local dealer about specific details.
Return/Exchange Program
Some manufacturers offer a very limited return or exchange period. Find out if you will get the sales tax and licensing/registration fees back should you return or exchange the car.
Roadside Assistance
Most certified pre-owned programs offer free roadside service in case your car breaks down while still under warranty.
Special Financing
Reduced-rate loans are available through many certified pre-owned programs. Manufacturer-backed inspections and warranties help eliminate the risks involved with buying pre-owned, so buyers who qualify can take advantage of the great offers.
Transferable Warranty
When a new car warranty transfers with the certification of the car and remains eligible for the next owner, it is known as a transferable warranty. Once the original transferable warranty expires, an extended warranty takes effect.
Warranty Deductible
This is the amount for which you are responsible when repair work is performed under the warranty. Some manufacturers require a deductible while others don't, so always ask.

A factory-backed limited warranty with coverage up to six years or 100,000 total vehicle miles from the origianl vehicle in-service date, whichever occurs first.¹
