Benefits of Driving a 2014 Audi SQ5 Sport Utility Crossover

With the 2.0 TFSI engine and 8-speed automatic, the 2014 Audi Q5 performs similarly to its V6-equipped big brother while being much more fuel-efficient. The standard Q5 has an EPA highway rating of 27 mpg. The Q5 has the longest wheelbase in its class and that gives it an especially smooth, settled ride. With either 3.0L V6, the Q5 has an excellent towing capacity as well. The Q5's rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive system brings more driving enjoyment than is typical for enthusiasts and those who might rather be driving a sport sedan, while the interior has just as much versatility and flexibility as other utility vehicles in this class. Add to the mix a 2.0L hybrid, and the appeal of the 2014 Audi Q5 is hard to ignore.

What's new for 2014?

The Audi Q5 gets a couple of new standard features, including a garage door opener and Bluetooth connectivity. The bigger news for 2014, is the addition of a new diesel engine. The new engine offers more power and torque than the base engine, while also beating it in fuel economy, offering up to 31mpg on the highway. The other big news for the Q5 in 2014 is the addition of the SQ5, a high performance version of the Q5 featuring a stronger engine and improved handling.

Model Review

The 2014 Audi Q5 is offered with three different engines. A 211-horsepower, 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, a supercharged 272-hp, 3.0L V6 and a turbocharged 3.0L diesel V6 that makes 240 hp. All three engines are mated to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, and all feature Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system, which sends about 60 percent of engine torque to the rear wheels under most driving conditions. When slippery surfaces are detected, or when more stability is needed, the system will reapportion torque as needed. The 2.0L also helps to power the hybrid model, in conjunction with an electric motor. The hybrid Q5 is capable of an EPA-estimated 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway.

Audi Certified Pre-Owned Warranty  help
Certified Pre-Owned Warranty
To be eligible for Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) status, vehicles generally must be recent models with relatively low mileage. CPO vehicles must also pass a detailed inspection, outlined by the manufacturer, which is measured by the number of inspected points.
Warranty coverage can vary from one manufacturer to the next. While most certified pre-owned programs transfer and extend the existing new car warranty terms, others offer a warranty that simply represents an additional year and mileage value. Always check with the manufacturer for the specific warranties they offer.
Common features and benefits of Certified Pre-Owned warranties include:
Age/Mileage Eligibility
To even be considered for certification, a car must be a recent model year and have limited mileage. The exact requirements are established by individual manufacturers.
Lease Term Certified
Some manufacturers offer certified pre-owned cars for lease. The length of the lease is often shorter than a new car lease, but it will cost you less.
Point Inspection
These inspections entail a comprehensive vehicle test to ensure that all parts are in excellent working order. The point inspection list is simply a numbered list of exactly what parts of the car are examined. While many inspections range from a 70- to 150-point checklist, most are very similar and are performed using strict guidelines. Ask your local dealer about specific details.
Return/Exchange Program
Some manufacturers offer a very limited return or exchange period. Find out if you will get the sales tax and licensing/registration fees back should you return or exchange the car.
Roadside Assistance
Most certified pre-owned programs offer free roadside service in case your car breaks down while still under warranty.
Special Financing
Reduced-rate loans are available through many certified pre-owned programs. Manufacturer-backed inspections and warranties help eliminate the risks involved with buying pre-owned, so buyers who qualify can take advantage of the great offers.
Transferable Warranty
When a new car warranty transfers with the certification of the car and remains eligible for the next owner, it is known as a transferable warranty. Once the original transferable warranty expires, an extended warranty takes effect.
Warranty Deductible
This is the amount for which you are responsible when repair work is performed under the warranty. Some manufacturers require a deductible while others don't, so always ask.

A factory-backed limited warranty with coverage up to six years or 100,000 total vehicle miles from the origianl vehicle in-service date, whichever occurs first.¹
