Starting at $46,195 | Starting at 17 MPG City - 24 MPG Highway
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has proven itself the premiere luxury SUV for 20 years. The latest Grand Cherokee builds on that tradition by offering civilized highway driving as well as the equipment to make a credible show off-road. The base Laredo 4x2 starts at just under $29,000 and comes very well-equipped. And the top-of-the-line SRT's all-wheel-drive on-road performance rivals that of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, but for half the price.
Jeep has initiated several key changes to the ever-popular Grand Cherokee for 2014. Outside, the SUV has updated styling, particularly up front, with revised headlights, grilles, fog lamps and lower fascias. New LED taillights make their way onto the Jeep as well. Inside, the Grand Cherokee includes a new steering wheel with paddle shifters and a new electronic gear shift selector. A new 8.4-inch UConnect infotainment system anchors the revised center stack, and a new 7-inch configurable screen sits front and center in the gauge cluster. New safety features make their way into the 2014 Grand Cherokee as well, including front park assist, front collision alert, and adaptive cruise control. Several trim and accessory changes also dot the landscape of the Grand Cherokee, allowing for increased choices when ordering.
The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is available in five trims: the base Laredo, Laredo E, Limited, Overland, Summit and the high-performance SRT. All but the SRT feature a standard 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that makes 290 horsepower and 260 ft-lb of torque. The flexible-fuel engine features variable-valve timing and is mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission Optional on Limited, Overland and Summit models is a new 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 with 240 hp and 420 ft-lb of torque. The engine provides up to 30 mpg on the highway and gives Grand Cherokees so equipped an effective range of up to 730 miles on a single tank. A 360-hp 5.7L Hemi V8 engine is also available on all trims but Laredo. Meanwhile the SRT comes with a 6.4L V8 that makes 465 horsepower. All but the SRT are available with with either 4x2 or 4x4, while the SRT utilizes Quadratrac on-demand all-wheel drive.
