Last year, for the opening day of the Philadelphia Auto Show, there was a line that stretched a one-quarter mile long around the block. This year, they expect an audience of 220,000.

The well-attended event, taking place at Pennsylvania Convention Center from Saturday, January 29 to Sunday, February 6, will feature more than 40 participating manufacturers with Fiat making a first time appearance. In addition, there will be two ‘Ride and Drive’ experiences, hosted individually by Kia and Toyota. The Kia event will operate February 3-6 and offers the Kia Optima. The Toyota Ride and Drive takes place February 4-6 with Camry Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Sienna, 4Runner and Tundra.

The nine-day “Philly Auto Show” covers over 550,000-square-foot of space showcasing a variety of vehicles including pre-production and green models, concepts, exotics and antiques from all around the world.

But beyond the pleasure of eyeballing all of these great vehicles, there’s a humanitarian side to the show. Since its inception in 2003, the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Philadelphia Auto Show, has made more than $3.5 million in contributions to child-related initiatives and organizations. In the continued spirit of charitable giving, the ADAGP will donate $2.00 to the Foundation from every Auto Show ticket sold this year. These donations will be used to support a number of programs run by the Foundation, including its Driving Away the Cold campaign, which provides new winter coats to underprivileged children in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Highlights of the 2011 Philadelphia Auto Show include:

2012 Pre-Production Models including: the Audi A7, Bentley GT Coupe, Buick LaCrosse with eAssist™, Ford Focus, Ford Mustang BOSS 302, Hyundai Veloster, Mazda5, Volkswagen Passat and Volvo S60. The Subaru Impreza concept will also be introduced.

And expect a bigger version of DUB Live! Sponsored by DUB magazine, an urban automotive lifestyle publication, the 35,000-square-foot display features some of the hottest customized rides and celebrity vehicles. And plenty of exotics. The exhibit will offer three from Aston Martin–the Rapide, DBS and Vantage N420; three from Bentley–the new GT Coupe, Supersports Convertible and Flying Spur Speed; two from Rolls-Royce–the Phantom Drophead Convertible and Ghost; three from Maserati–Quattroporte 4.7, GranTurismo Convertible 4.7, GranTurismo Coupe 4.7 and two from Lamborghini–Superleggera and LP 560-4 Spyder.

If your love is vintage, check out the four displays from an esteemed group of world-class collectors including: Buckingham Concours d’Elegance, New Hope Auto Show and Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. Rare vehicles on display include the 1910 Otto Roadster, 1926 Type 35 Bugatti, 1931 Voisin and 1966 Cobra 427 Roadster.

On Sunday, February 6, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., children 13 and under come free when accompanied by an adult, at The Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation Day. Kids can get their faces painted, participate in art projects and see Spider-Man and Iron Man.

The 2011 Philadelphia Auto Show hours run noon to 10:00 p.m. on weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 30 and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6. Tickets can be bought at the box office or purchased online at www.phillyautoshow.com. Online tickets run $10.00 for adults (13 and older) and $6.00 for children (7-12). At the box office the prices are the same with the exception of $12.00 for adults on weekends. On weekdays Children 6 and under are free and seniors pay $6.00.
