Fresh off of last years redesign, the 2012 Volkswagen Touareg is a mid-size SUV available with three different engines; 3.6-liter V6 (280 hp/265 lb-ft of torque), 3.0-liter V6 TDI� Clean Diesel engine (225 hp/406 lb-ft of torque) and a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 hybrid engine (380 hp/425 lb-ft of torque). All engines are paired with the same 8-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION� permanent AWD system. Fuel consumption falls within an EPA estimated range of 16 mpg city to 28 mpg highway, depending on engine selection. Model Review

The 2012 Touareg hasn't changed from last year, including Volkswagen's excellent engine lineup. A 280-hp 3.6L V6 gasoline engine powers the base Sport, Lux and Exec Touareg and gets 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.
