Now available in a new RS trim level, the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic is a sub-compact FWD vehicle available in five door hatchback and sedan trim levels. The Sonic is available with two different engines; a standard 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 138 hp/125 lb-ft of torque and an optional 1.4-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 138 hp/148 lb-ft of torque. The base engine is paired with a 5-speed manual while the optional engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Although the Sonic will technically be "replacing" the Aveo in North America, the same car will be marketed overseas as the Chevrolet Aveo.
