Benefits of Driving a 2015 Honda Fit Hatchback

The Honda Fit competes with other subcompacts such as the Ford Fiesta, the Fiat 500 and the Toyota Yaris. It's an extremely competitive class of vehicle, but Honda has successfully been building excellent subcompacts longer than just about any other manufacturer in the United States. The big selling point for the 2015 Fit, is how much space it crams into a relatively small footprint. It offers nearly five more cubic feet of interior volume than last year's model; at the same time, the 2015 Fit is actually shorter in length than that one. Pricing starts at $15,525 which is slightly more than a couple of its competitors, but the Fit's price reflects the high level of standard features that come with the car.

What's new for 2015?

The Honda Fit has been given a total redesign for 2015. The new Fit gets not just a new exterior and interior, but also a new engine and new transmission options as well.

Model Strengths

  • Roomy interior
  • compact exterior
  • great fuel economy
  • economical price
  • Honda reliability
  • high levels of standard equipment

Model Review

All 2015 Fits are powered by a new 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that makes 130hp. There are two available transmissions, a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Power is sent to the front wheels and while nobody would accuse the Fit of being a sports car, acceleration is peppy, reflecting an increase in power over last year's model. Fuel economy is stellar, particularly with the CVT transmission. The Fit is able to achieve 41 MPG on the highway when properly equipped and even regular non-CVT Fits are rated at 32 MPG in combined city and highway driving.
