The retro-styled Chrysler PT Cruiser comes in a convertible version - and this year the Convertible comes in just one trim level.

A 150 horsepower 2.4-liter in-line four-cylinder engine is standard, with a 180-horsepower turbocharged version optional. A five-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a four-speed automatic is optional.

Side airbags are standard for 2008, along with tire pressure monitors. Other standard equipment includes a power driver seat, cruise control, air conditioning and 16-inch wheels.

Anti-lock brakes are optional on the PT Cruiser Convertible. A 368-watt Boston Acoustics premium sound system with MP3 capability is available, as are Sirius satellite radio, Bluetooth, and 17-inch wheels.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance. The overall crash test rating is based on how a vehicle performs in the following tests: Driver Crash Grade: Measures the chance of a serious injury to a crash test dummy that is placed in a driver's seat and driven into a fixed barrier at 35 MPH.
