The 2010 Buick Lucerne is a premium full-size four-door sedan. Five passengers can sit comfortably while an optional bench front seat can increase that number to six passengers. A 3.9L V6 is standard on most trims and produces 227 hp. A larger 4.6L V8 is standard on the Super trim and pushes out 292 hp. Both engines are mated to four-speed automatic transmissions. 2010 sees the arrival of optional 18 in. chrome wheels, new backlit gauges, and all trims receive the fog lamps that used to be reserved just for the Super trim.
The 2010 Buick Lucerne continues to be part traditional American luxury car, with a back seat spacious enough for adults and part high-technology flagship. The new 3.9L V6 offers increased power in lower trim levels, while the Super model, with its sportier tuning and Northstar V8 engine, does much to break away from the staid image of Buick's past.
For 2010, the Buick Lucerne returns with few basic changes, including updated rocker panels and foglamps formerly found only on the Super are now standard across the line. Other changes include new backlit gauges, new optional 18-inch wheels on the super and Bluetooth connectibility is available on the base CX model. Dark Crimson Metallic, Ming Blue Metallic, Gold Mist Metallic and Dark Mocha Bronze Metallic paint have been discontinued, while Pearl Frost Tri-Coat, Light Bronze Metallic and Sand Beige Metallic have been added.
Buick's Lucerne is offered in four different trim levels for 2010--CX, CXL, CXL Special Edition and Super. These models cover a broad range of automotive expectations, from a comfortable full-size car to a sporty, loaded luxury cruiser. The CX model has the softest suspension, while the CXL gets a slightly firmer 'Ride and Handling' setup, along with 17-inch wheels. Top Super models upgrade to a sport-tuned suspension with GM's Magnetic Ride Control, which uses a fluid with magnetically charged particles to quickly adjust the damping for either quick maneuvers or rough surfaces. CXL and Super models also get StabiliTrak stability control and brake assist in addition to the standard anti-lock brakes.
