In its final year of production, the Sierra 1500 is a full-size pick up truck that is offered in regular, extended and crew cab configuration. Trim levels are the base WT (work truck), SLE, and SLT and available in either two or four-wheel-drive. You also have a choice of bed length, with 5.8', 6.6' or 8', for those who need to carry a 4X8 sheet of wood. The base engine is the 4.3Liter V6 (195HP) with a manual transmission on the WT, with the 4.8Liter V8 that produces 295HP on the SLE and SLT. There is also an optional 5.3Liter (315HP) V8 and the aluminum head version that increases the horsepower to 335. There is also a 6.0Liter V8 that puts out 367HP. All models are offered in both two-and four-wheel-drive.
Now that an all-new GMC Sierra lineup is stealing the limelight for the 2007 model year, the older 'Classic' Sierra models are still offered, though at prices that are quite a bit lower than comparable new Sierra models. Depending on your needs, if you don't mind going without the flashy new versions, going with a Classic could give a significantly better deal.
A completely redesigned GMC Sierra is also on sale for 2007, but the previous-generation Sierra models continue for one last model year, with these models given the 'Classic' label to distinguish them from the new versions. This older, respected design, like the new Silverado, still comes in many different combinations of cab styles, bed lengths, and V6 and V8 engines, including the high-tech Hybrid model and top-luxury Denali.
The 2007 GMC Sierra Classic is available in three different cab styles (regular, extended, and crew cab) and three different bed lengths (short, standard, and long, which measure 5'8', 6'6', and 8', respectively). The regular cab is only available with standard and long boxes and the crew cab is only available in short and standard boxes, while the extended cab is available with all three beds.
