For 2008, the base model Lotus Exige has been discontinued, and the more powerful Exige S 240 makes its debut. The 2008 Lotus Exige S is a 2-seat, high-performance coupe that also comes in S 240 and S Club Racer trims. The Exige S sports a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine with 220 hp, while the Exige S 240 features a larger roof-mounted air scoop, which forces more air into the supercharger, resulting in 20 additional hp. However, Lotus estimates only a 0.1-second improvement in 0-60 time. The 240 also gets bigger brakes, bringing it to a stop with super-precision, and all Exiges get a new gauge cluster with trip computer for 2008.
