The 2009 Bentley Arnage, a carryover from the 2008 Arnage, is the ultimate expression of power and sophistication. The Arnage is a 4-door ultra-luxury exotic sedan that is capable of amazing levels of both performance and luxury. The Arnage R and RL trims share the same twin-turbocharged 6.75L V8 that produces 450 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque. The Arnage T specs display the same V8 engine but that it squeezes out 500 hp and a mind warping 738 lb-ft of torque. All trims use the 6-speed automatic transmission that has a sequential manual shift control when you are feeling sporting. Standard on all trims is a navigation system, Bluetooth and power adjustable heated front and rear seats. The Arnage RL, which has a longer wheelbase for more room in the back seats, has a rear center armrest with a bottle cooler as well as a rearview camera for the driver. Options for 2009 include carbon-ceramic brakes, the Naim premium audio system, an iPod audio interface and a new wheel design. The 2009 Bentley Arnage is the last Arnage in a line of models that have spanned 10 years. Keep an eye out for the limited edition Bentley Arnage Final Series. The Bentley Arnage gets 12 mpg city/20 mpg hwy.
The Arnage has the conservative look and feel of traditional big Bentley sedans, while Bentley's less-expensive Continental Flying Spur has a more modern style. The mammoth twin-turbo V8 engine in the Arnage is one of the smoothest, most powerful engines in the prestige luxury class, and its tremendous torque allows seemingly effortless acceleration and passing. Exclusivity and status is likely the primary reason for considering the Arnage, though; because Bentley only sells a few hundred Arnages annually in the U.S., you're not likely to see another.
Very little changes for 2009 on Bentley's biggest, most luxurious sedan. Carbon ceramic brakes are a new option and dark-stained Vavona wood is newly available. The 'Naim for Bentley' 1100-wat audio system, is optional. Also, the Final Series Arnage, a special edition, celebrates the last year for the Arnage model line with a run of just 150 cars.
The Arnage is offered in three different models: Arnage R, RL and T. The R and RL models are powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V8, making 450 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque, while the Arnage T performance model has a 500-hp, 737-pound-feet version of the same engine. Both are mated to a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission and deliver their power to the pavement through rear-wheel drive.
