A carryover from 2009, the four-passenger 2010 Volvo C70 is a two-door with a retractable hardtop. This allows the C70 to retain the good looks of a coupe while giving the driver the option of dropping the top for some open-air motoring. Power is provided by a 227 hp 2.5L turbo five-cylinder engine which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. A five-speed automatic is available. The C70 is loaded with traditional Volvo standard safety features including a Rollover Protection system.

What's new for 2010?

The Volvo C70 gets a number of subtle and striking styling upgrades for 2010. Taking design cues from other Volvo models, the XC60 and the S60 Concept Car introduced in Detroit in January 2009, the new C70 convertible has a new front fascia, headlights, fenders and tail lights, and some updated materials in the interior, including a new instrument cluster and softer leather seats. Headlights are larger and sweep further back while more pronounced taillights and a dual exhaust accent the rear. The Volvo emblem is now more prominent on the front grille and on the rear decklid.

Model Review

For 2010, the Volvo C70 convertible is offered in North America only with the top-performing T5 engine. It comes standard with a 2.5L inline-5-cylinder turbocharged engine, that makes 227 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque. It is mated to either a standard 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional 5-speed automatic transmission with Geartronic manual shift control. MacPherson Struts are used in the front suspension, while the rear suspension is a multi-link design.
