Summary

Provided by NADAguides.com

Restyled inside and out, the 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer is a five-passenger car available as a sedan or in the all-new wagon bodystyle referred to as a Sportback. Available with FWD or AWD, the Lancer is offered with a choice between a 152 hp 2.0L four-cylinder, a 168 hp 2.0L four-cylinder, a 237 hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder, or a 291 hp 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder as found in the top of the line Lancer Evolution. Available transmissions include a CVT, five-speed manual, or a six-speed dual-clutch Sportron Shift transmission which allows you to shift the car manually via paddles.

Benefits of Driving a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Sedan

At the base level, the Lancer packs plenty of fun and safety features into a sub-$15,000 package. While the race-derived Evolution can get a bit pricey, it also features 300 hp and standard all-wheel drive for maximum performance. The base model returns great fuel economy, achieving 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

What's new for 2010?

Though the design and features of the Lancer remain mostly unchanged for 2010, there are two big additions to the overall lineup. First, the rally-ready Evolution is back after a 1-year hiatus in two trim levels. Second, the much-anticipated Sportback body style has reached U.S. shores in GTS and Ralliart editions.

Model Strengths

  • New sportback model added
  • lots of sporty fun
  • the Lancer Evolution's supercar performance

Model Review

The 5-seat Lancer comes in a slew of variations for 2010, with a couple of different body styles, a couple of engines, and a couple of trim levels for each. At the heart of the car is a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine, except for the GTS. That model, in either sedan or Sportback trim, comes with an upgraded 2.4-liter inline four.

Original Warranty  help
Original Warranty
An original warranty is the warranty associated with a vehicle when it is brand new. In addition to the original warranty, select items, like tires, are typically covered by respective manufacturers. Also, an act of Federal law sometimes provides protection for certain components, like emissions equipment.
The original warranty is often broken down into multiple sections, including:
Basic Warranty:
Typically covers everything except for parts that wear out through normal use of the vehicle. Examples of non-covered items are brake pads, wiper blades and filters.
Drivetrain Warranty:
This warranty covers items the basic warranty does not protect. Wear and tear items such as hoses will not be covered, but key items like the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft often will be.
Roadside Assistance:
The level of service differs greatly with this warranty, but many manufacturers offer a toll-free number that helps provide assistance in case you run out of gas, get a flat tire or lock your keys in the car.
Corrosion Warranty:
This warranty focuses on protecting you from holes caused by rust or corrosion in your vehicle's sheet metal.
Please check the owner's manual, visit a local dealership or look at the manufacturer's website to learn more about the specifics of the warranties that apply to a vehicle.
