Created in 2007 as a dedicated factory tuner sedan, the Lexus IS F is high-caliber in both performance and luxury. Dressed up with 19-inch forged aluminum wheels by BBS, Brembo brakes, dual chrome-tipped exhaust and special "F� badging, the 2011 Lexus IS F outer sports bravado is coupled with more radical bodywork. Inside of the 2011 IS F, aluminum pedals and hard-finished aluminized composite trim surrounds perforated leather seating with optional Alcantara inserts. New for 2011, a two-tone orange and black interior scheme can be matched with one of six exterior colors of the Lexus IS F. High technology equipment found as standard features on the 2011 Lexus IS F includes a 13-speaker premium audio system, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free phone as well as MP3 players, HomeLink transceiver and SmartAccess key-free entry and start. Among the most noteworthy item in the 2011 Lexus IS F is the 342 horsepower, 5-liter V-8 engine connected through an 8-speed automatic transmission. A TORSEN limited-slip differential was added last year to the IS F for effective performance grip. Zero to sixty mile per hour acceleration for the 2011 Lexus IS F is slated at 4.6 seconds.

What's new for 2011?

Following the introduction of all-new IS 250C and IS 350C retractable-hardtop convertible models last year, the IS sedans receive a bit more attention this year. For 2011, the Lexus IS sedan lineup especially takes a step toward a sportier image and more performance potential. A new IS 350 AWD (all-wheel drive) model is added to the IS sedan lineup. There's also a new F Sport Package available on rear-wheel-drive IS 250 and IS 350 models, which adds some of the appearance upgrades, as well as a sport suspension and sportier steering tuning. A special new Ultrasonic Blue color is available with the package.

Model Review

The Lexus IS remains offered in two different body styles, both available in IS 250 or IS 350 guise. IS 250 models come with a 204-horsepower, 2.5-liter V6 engine while IS 350 models get a 306-hp, 3.5-liter V6. Both engines come with variable valve timing for responsiveness as well as fuel efficiency--the IS 250 is quite economical with EPA ratings of up to 21 mpg city and 29 highway. While the IS 250 comes standard with a 6-speed manual transmission, with a 6-speed automatic (and steering-wheel paddle-shifters) optional, all IS 350 models come with the automatic.
