The 2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class is a full size seven passenger luxury SUV available in GL350 BlueTEC, GL450, and GL550 trim levels. The 4WD GL350 BlueTEC is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine producing 210 hp. Equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission the GL350 BlueTEC achieves 17 mpg city and 21 mpg highway. The GL450 and GL550 trims are available with 4.6-liter/5.5-liter V8 engines that produce 335/382 hp. Both trims come with 4-wheel Electronic Traction System and 7-speed automatic transmission. The GL-Class came to be in 2007 in the form of the GL450, and was based on the decades-old squared-off G-Class SUV.
