The performance-oriented version of the Continental GT, the 2012 Bentley Continental Supersports is a luxury supercar available in coupe, soft-top convertible, and a limited edition convertible ISR model. The base models are powered by the same 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine, producing 621 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, for a 0-60 time under 4 seconds (3.7 for the coupe/3.9 for the convertible) and top speed in excess of 200 mph. An air suspension with continuous damping control offers a silky smooth ride. A 6-speed automatic transmission paired with AWD enables the Supersports to achieve an EPA estimated 11 mpg city and 24 mpg highway, for a combined average of 17 mpg. Features include bi-xenon headlamps, vertical front air intakes, 20-inch wheels, dual exhaust, LED tail lamps, navigation, premium leather, keyless-entry and ignition, and carbon fiber sport seats. The ISR offers even more performance tweaks to the W12 engine making it capable of 631 hp. Safety is comprised of advanced airbag system, traction control, stability control, vehicle stability assist, anti-lock braking, and tire pressure monitoring. The Continental Supersports is backed by a 3-year/unlimited-mile warranty.

What's new for 2012?

In 2011, the Continental Supersports model was given a new convertible variant. No changes were made to the performance model for 2012, which still features a special front bumper, hood vents and more. A limited edition ISR convertible trim level has been added this year, which features red piping on the seats and doors, red contrast stitching on the seats and dash, and a carbon fiber dash treatment. Only 100 units will be sold.

Model Review

The Continental Supersports supercar sits at the top of the Continental line. It features a more muscular look than other Continentals thanks to a revised front bumper with large lower air intakes, special hood vents, a unique rear bumper and rear quarter panels and special smoked grille as well as other exterior trim. The coupe, like many of its supercar competition, comes in 2-seat configuration. In the rear, in place of where the rear seats would go in any other Continental, the Supersports coupe features a storage area with a carbon fiber luggage retaining beam. Rear seats are available as an extra option. Convertibles are outfitted with four seats as standard equipment.
