Now standard with USB port and hands-free phone capabilities, the 2013 Subaru Forester is an AWD crossover wagon powered by a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 170 hp. The Forester can be found in several different trims for 2013--base, Premium, Limited and Touring--for a total of six models. But there's quite a difference between 2.5X and 2.5XT; 2.5X models come with a 170-horsepower, 2.5L horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine, while XT models--only offered in Limited or Touring guise--include a 224-horsepower turbocharged version.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs independent crash testing of new vehicles and then assigns them a score based on their performance.
