No longer available in the SEL trim, the 2013 Ford Focus is a compact car, with seating for five, available in sedan and hatchback trim levels. The Focus is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque. For increased performance drivers can upgrade to the ST trim that is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that yields 252 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque. FWD can be paired to a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or 6-speed manual (ST) transmission, enabling the Focus to achieve fuel mileage within an EPA estimated range of 23 mpg city to 38 mpg highway. Features include 18-inch wheels, SYNC with MyFord Touch, active park assist, heated front seats, push-button start, navigation system, HD radio, leather seats, dual-zone climate control, and the MyFord mobile app. Safety is comprised of advanced airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), electric-power-assisted steering, torque vectoring control, AdvaceTrac electronic stability control (ESC), and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS). The Focus is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
The new Ford Focus is a small car that offers a number of features otherwise seen in larger or more luxurious vehicles. For instance, the Focus is also the first vehicle in its class to offer Active Park Assist, which can actually guide and steer the car into a parking space if the driver moderates speed with the brake. It's also the first small car to offer Ford's new MyFord Touch system, which relies on a sophisticated touch-screen system and has advanced voice-command features and can even provide WiFi for the car and the area surrounding.
The Ford Focus was completely redesigned in 2012. For 2013 Ford has added the sporty Focus ST to the lineup. Featuring a much more powerful turbocharged engine, the Focus ST goes, stops and turns like a sports car, but still offers all of the practicality of the standard Focus.
The new Focus is offered in 4-door sedan or 5-door hatchback forms, in S, SE, SEL and Titanium and ST trims--although hatchbacks aren't offered in base S form and the high performance ST is hatchback only. S and SE models can be had with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed PowerShift dual-clutch automatic transmission. SEL and Titanium models only come with the automatic, while the ST is only available with a 6-speed manual.
