The 2013 Jeep Wrangler is a compact 4WD SUV with superior off-road capabilities. The Wrangler is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine, yielding 285 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, that can be paired with either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. Towing capacity is a modest 2,000 lbs but all trim levels now come standard with trailer sway control. Fuel mileage falls within an EPA estimated range of 17 mpg city to 21 mpg highway. Rubicon and Sahara trim levels are now granted an auto-dimming rearview mirror and updated wheels. Features include removable doors, 18-inch wheels, removable top, halogen headlamps, wash-out interior with drain plugs, removable carpet, heated front seats, automatic temperature control, automatic transmission shifter, steering-wheel mounted controls, and remote start. Safety is comprised of advance multi-stage airbags, traction control (TCS), anti-lock brake system (ABS), brake assist (BA), electronic roll mitigation, hill start assist, and tire pressure monitoring (TPMS). The Wrangler is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
With prices starting at a little over $20,000 with standard 4-wheel drive, the classic Wrangler is one of the best SUV values available. The 6-speed manual transmission helps the Wrangler achieve a not-too-shabby 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway rating. Jeep considers the Wrangler's off-road prowess integral to the brand, and they continue to make one of the most capable 4-wheel drive vehicles out there. The Wrangler is one of the most capable off-road vehicles sold today, with its inexpensive price being the icing on the cake.
The 2013 Wrangler receives only minor changes. New seats are more comfortable and an improved soft top is available on Wrangler Unlimited models. A new 7-speaker stereo is available as an option along with an auto-dimming rearview mirror with map lights.
The Wrangler and its 4-door sibling, the Wrangler Unlimited, come in four trim levels for 2013, all with a 3.6L V6 engine. The engine makes 202 hp at 5200 rpm and 237 lb-ft of torque. All Wrangler models have a 6-speed manual transmission as standard equipment, while a 5-speed automatic is optional.
