Now standard with engine start/stop, the 2013 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class is an entry-level luxury compact hard-top roadster that can be powered by a 1.8-liter turbo-charged 4-cylinder engine (201 hp) or 3.5-liter V6 engine (302 hp). RWD paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission enables the standard SLK to achieve an EPA estimated 22 mpg city and 32 mpg highway. For AMG performance drivers the SLK55 AMG is equipped with a hand-built 5.5-liter V8 engine that produces 415 hp. Features include 18-inch wheels, interior wood trim, LED daytime running lamps, panorama sunroof, adaptive bi-xenon headlamps, heated seats, keyless start, leather seats, 8-way power sports seats, heated power side mirrors, surround sound system, 6-disc DVD/CD changer, 8-speaker audio system, navigation system, and HD radio. Safety is comprised of electronic stability program, adaptive brakes, attention assist, 8-way airbag protection, anti-lock braking (ABS), brake assist (BA), emergency tensioning devices, and advanced tire pressure monitoring (TPMS). The SLK is backed by a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty.

What's new for 2013?

For 2013 the SLK350 gets more standard features. Engine start/stop technology keeps the car relatively fuel efficient, while last year's Premium 1 package now comes standard on all SLK350s. That means satellite radio, heated seats and the upgraded harman/kardon stereo are all standard.
