What's New in the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq?

For 2020, the Ioniq line sees a number of improvements. The EV gets a larger battery pack and an onboard charger that increase the total driving range to 170 miles. New standard driver assists include forward-collision avoidance assist, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams and lane-keeping assist. The Ioniq gets a slight exterior and interior freshening, as well as revised trim names with new content. Also new is an 8-in touchscreen infotainment system that can be upgraded to 10.25 inches. See the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq models for sale near you

Which Ioniq is the Best?

We think the SE, with its combination of features, options and price, is the best deal in the Ioniq lineup. We love the extra features found on the SEL and the Limited, but their prices push the Ioniq out of the affordable hybrid category it's looking to conquer. Find a Hyundai Ioniq for sale

The Ioniq SEL ($29,130) includes the SE's features and adds adaptive cruise control with stop/go, a power sunroof, forward-collision avoidance with pedestrian detection, lane-follow assist, LED headlights and taillights and a wireless charging pad.

The Ioniq Limited ($31,930) adds leather seating, highway drive assist, front and rear parking sensors, power folding side mirrors with puddle lamps, rear vents, memory for the driver's seat, a Harman Kardon premium audio system, a 10.25-in touchscreen with navigation, a 4.2-in LCD instrument cluster and LED interior lighting.

2020 Hyundai Ioniq vs the competition

2020 Toyota Prius C -- The Prius C is less expensive than an Ioniq, but it's also smaller, less powerful and not as well optioned. The Toyota also has a shorter standard warranty.

2020 Kia Niro -- The Kia Niro uses the same basic mechanicals as the Ioniq but in a more useful package, with better interior space and a more attractive SUV-like design.

2020 Hyundai Kona Electric -- The Kona Electric is sportier than the Ioniq and can drive up to 258 miles on a single charge. The Kona Electirc does cost a bit more than the Ioniq Electric, though.

Used Toyota Camry Hybrid -- A used 2014-2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid will give you great fuel economy, a lot more interior room and excellent reliability and resale figures.
