  • The new SRX features improved technological and safety components
  • The 2013 SRX is schedules to go on sale later this year

Since its redesign in 2009, the SRX has brought Cadillac's visual signature to the luxury crossover segment. And in 2013, the SRX improves upon its legacy with improved technology, safety features, and sound cancelling and deadening.

Offered in front- and all-wheel drive, the SRX is powered by a 3.6-liter V6, producing 308 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque.

On the interior, Cadillac CUE (Cadillac User Experience) comes standard on the 2013 SRX. The CUE in-vehicle control and connectivity system pairs entertainment and information data from up to 10 Bluetooth-enabled mobile devices, USB devices, SD cards and MP3 players. The CUE works to reduce control complexity through customizable information, voice commands, fewer buttons and larger icons.

In addition to an improved technological experience, the SRX incorporates Cadillac's "control and alert" safety strategy. This advanced safety strategy employs radar, cameras and ultra-sonic sensors to help prevent crashes. The technological safety features don't end there. The 2013 SRX utilizes numerous safety elements including: Forward Collision Alert, lane departure warning, Rear Vision Camera with Dynamic Guidelines, Safety Alert Seat, dual-stage frontal and side-impact driver and front passenger air bags, head-curtain side-impact air bags, rollover mitigation sensors, front safety belt pretensioners and load limiters.

New for 2013, active noise cancelation helps create a quieter driving experience. The system uses microphones to detect ambient noise, and a specialized computer processes the frequencies and produces counteracting sound waves through the audio system, thereby neutralizing the sound and improving the sound quality inside the cabin.

Pricing for the 2013 SRX has not yet been announced but will be made public before the vehicle enters showrooms later this fall.

What it means to you: Eager to stay relevant in the ever-improving luxury crossover segment, Cadillac improves the interior quality of the SRX.
