  • Revised Crosstour concept will be revealed in New York
  • Updated model will go on sale for 2013 model year
  • Current 4-cylinder and V6 engine choices remain

The Honda Crosstour has only been on sale for a few years, but has already received some tweaking. In an apparent response to slow sales, the automaker recently gave the Accord-based crossover a fuel-efficient 4-cylinder engine alternative. That hasn't provided a significant sales boost, so at this year's New York Auto Show, Honda is bringing along an updated version of the Crosstour, set to go on sale for the 2013 model year.

Honda is staying mum on the details, but we expect the automaker to tweak the styling to address complaints of limited visibility and lack of cargo space. It's unlikely the Crosstour will get a major overhaul, though, as it's still so new. Honda does plan to keep the current engine choices, a 4-cylinder that produces192 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque and a more powerful V6 that produces 271 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque.

With a starting price of $27,655 the Crosstour is a pretty good value, with some premium features included as standard, like a backup camera and USB connection. We hope the new version addresses some of the current Crosstour's drawbacks to make it a better all around car.

What it means to you: If you like the Crosstour idea but don't like some things about the current model, the new concept coming to New York may address your concerns.
