2015 Nissan Juke: Geneva Auto Show

What Is It?

The 2015 Nissan Juke is a compact crossover with bold styling. While that was also true of last year's Juke, the 2015 model includes a few updates, ranging from revised exterior styling to a new powerplant and a long list of new technology.

Under the hood, the Juke offers a new base-level 1.2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that puts out just 112 horsepower. We say "just" because today's Juke offers a more muscular 188 horses, though the current Juke's 27 miles per gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the highway won't be able to touch the 1.2-liter model's 40-plus mpg. Unfortunately for shoppers interested in saving fuel, the Juke's 1.2-liter engine might not make it to the U.S. market.

But other changes to the Juke are definitely coming to the States. One example is the exterior, which has been face-lifted to give the car a new look thanks to revised front and rear bumpers. The Juke is also adding a long list of new safety technology, ranging from a blind spot monitoring system to lane departure warning. Finally, the Juke is adding a glass-roof option for drivers interested in adding a light, airy feel to the crossover's cabin.

How Much?

Despite its changes, we expect the 2015 Nissan Juke to offer similar pricing as today's model. Expect a base price under $20,000, with well-equipped models to top $28,000 with shipping.

When Can You Get It?

Expect to see the 2015 Juke reach showrooms in the next few months.

Add It to Your Shopping List Because…

The Nissan Juke is a quirky compact SUV for drivers who want to stand out from the pack. With its updates for the 2015 model year, the Juke offers even more of the crossover's unique charm, and that's good news for shoppers who enjoy its look-at-me styling and unusual profile. Those who don't can always consider one of Nissan's other crossovers, including the recently redesigned Rogue.

Other Cars to Consider

Kia Soul -- If you're willing to give up the Juke's all-wheel drive and some ground clearance, the Kia Soul boasts a similar funky look and practical capabilities. It's also more fuel efficient and less expensive to buy.

MINI Cooper Countryman -- Few cars offer the Juke's combination of quirky styling, crossover-like ground clearance and all-wheel drive. The MINI Cooper Countryman comes closest, boasting similar sizing and an enjoyable driving experience.

Nissan Rogue -- If you're looking for a crossover without the Juke's bold styling, try the newly redesigned Nissan Rogue. Now available with 3-row seating, the Rogue offers an efficient, practical take on the compact crossover.
