2016 Chevrolet Equinox: Chicago Auto Show - Video

This year's Chicago Auto Show has served as a launching pad for the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, which has been freshened up for the latest model year. While it looks fairly similar to the outgoing model at first glance, the new Equinox actually offers some big upgrades under the skin.

On the outside, there's a revised front fascia, along with LED running lamps and new wheel designs, but there are bigger changes on the inside: Chevrolet's 7-inch color touchscreen, which includes a backup camera, is now standard on all models, while new options include a blind spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert.

The enhanced Equinox carries over its powertrain options from last year. Base models use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, capable of up to 32 miles per gallon on the highway with front-wheel drive. Drivers looking for more power can upgrade to a muscular 301-horsepower 3.6-liter V6.

If you're interested in the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, expect it to reach dealers this fall.
