What Is It?

The 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque is set to be Land Rover's best-selling model this year, but the good folks in Coventry aren't resting on their laurels. The 2016 Evoque debuts a number of new features, including tweaked styling, a hands-free power lift gate with a foot sensor and an overhauled infotainment system. There's also a revamped trim-level structure (SE, HSE Dynamic and Autobiography) that mirrors the other Range Rover models.

On the outside, the 2016 Evoque is recognizable by its reshaped front bumper, two new grille designs, full LED headlights, SlimLine LED fog lights and fresh selections for alloy wheels. Inside, the Evoque is treated to redesigned front seats, with top-of-the-line models boasting massage functions and 14-way power adjustments. Perhaps most notably, the Evoque now offers a vastly improved 8-inch touchscreen infotainment interface that brings it in line with top rivals in this segment. Moreover, most Evoque models will come equipped with Land Rover's InControl smartphone-integration system, which adds mobile-app compatibility and iPhone-style swipe functionality to the touchscreen.

Additional 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque highlights start with off-road technology called All-Terrain Progress Control (ATPC), which is a hand-me-down from the executive-class Range Rover. With ATPC activated, you can maintain a preset speed between 1.1 miles per hour and 19 mph while off-roading, enabling you to focus your attention on the terrain ahead. It's basically cruise control for trail enthusiasts, and we're excited to try it out. The 2016 Evoque further adds a handful of safety innovations, namely lane-keeping assist, automatic emergency braking and a drowsiness monitor.

How Much?

TBA, but Land Rover says to expect pricing roughly in line with that of the 2015 model.

When Can You Get It?

August 2015

Add It to Your Shopping List Because...

Every other compact crossover looks boring by comparison. The Evoque is hardly the most practical vehicle in its class, but there's a strong case to be made that it's the most beautiful.

Other Cars to Consider

2015 BMW X3 -- The X3 is more versatile than the Evoque and offers a range of appealing engines.

2015 MINI Cooper Countryman --Smaller and more affordable than the Land Rover, the Countryman is more fun to drive, too.

2015 Porsche Macan -- The Macan can get pricey, but it's easily the sports car of this segment.

Used BMW X6 -- If you're into crossovers that dare to be different, a certified pre-owned X6 could hit the spot.
