Legendary British automaker Aston Martin has yet to debut its newest sports car, the V12 Zagato, but that's not stopping the company from offering it for sale already. After all, Aston Martin will build just 150 examples, each requiring 2000 man-hours of careful craftsmanship. The top model in the Vantage line makes its first appearance next month at the Geneva Auto Show, but with the design finalized, potential buyers can now see images of the road car's elegant lines.

While mechanical specifications are yet unreleased, many design details are confirmed, as is a price tag over $500,000. The aluminum and carbon fiber body includes bespoke details and colors, and interior appointments are also unique to this limited-run GT.

The work of famed Milan design house Zagato is evident in the "double-bubble" roof, which, along with the doors and hood, is handcrafted in aluminum. Extensive use of carbon fiber, selected for the trunk lid, door sills, and all four fenders, keeps weight down. Carbon fiber components like the front splitter, A-pillars and rear spoiler remain unfinished to expose the composite weave, and window trim is painted black to complement the look.

The painting process on a vehicle like the V12 Zagato is a painstaking affair requiring 100 hours of masterful work. Four exclusive colors are offered - Scintilla Silver, Alloro Green, Alba Blue and Diavolo Red.

Inside, bespoke touches continue. Seven Bridge of Weir hides are tanned to show natural grain and hand-stitched to covert the seats and headliner in a quilted pattern. Embroidered Zagato "Z" emblems on the headrest and rear parcel shelf. Satin finish carbon fiber accents the center stack and door sills, which include inlaid metal "V12 Zagato" plaques.

Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez says the new V12 Zagato continues a long tradition of highly desirable GT cars resulting from the combined efforts of Aston Martin and Zagato. "Our relationship with Zagato stretches back more than 50 years," said Bez. "Together in that time we have created a series of very special cars. The first - the DB4GT Zagato - is a true icon: fast, beautiful and incredibly desirable. In the V12 Zagato I believe we have captured the spirit of that car and combined it with a confident twist of modernity to give it a character all of its own."

With only 150 slots, these V12 Zagatos will go fast in more ways than one.

What it means to you: The new Aston Martin V12 Zagato debuts at the Geneva Auto Show and will be available for delivery next year, but the company is beginning pre-sale immediately.
