For those needing a serious people-mover or a heavy-duty hauler, the Truck and SUV segment is an important one. Here’s what’s showing at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show:
Ram has announced a new upscale model for its truck line. The range-topping Laramie Limited receives a number of premium features such as leather upholstery, push-button start, rear-view camera, power adjustable pedals, heated seats in both rows and ambient cabin lighting. It will be available in multiple cab and wheelbase configurations. The Ram Laramie Limited goes on sale in the Spring.
GMC has revealed a revised Acadia in Chicago. This large crossover was overdue for a freshening and now brings a new grille and front fascia that are squared-off for a more truck-like look. At the same time, the interior gets softer-to-the-touch materials, a few styling enhancements and for safety, an industry-first center airbag.
And Toyota showed off its 2013 Land Cruiser. This big SUV gets a revised exterior including new grille, headlamps and taillights. The interior is upgraded with ventilated seats up front, richer-looking wood trim and some noticeable brightwork. In terms of innovation, the Land Cruiser gets a Multi-terrain monitor, radar-based dynamic cruise control and trailer sway control with off-road turn assist for greater stability in the wild.
And those are the trucks to watch for. Be sure to check Autotrader.com frequently for more articles, photos and videos from the 2012 Chicago Auto Show.
