Cadillac’s CT6 is the kind of car that luxury automakers used to rely on. These days, people are looking for more — more utility, more tech and more performance. The new Cadillac CT6 V-Sport emphasizes the last two. Under the hood is a new 4.2L, twin-turbo V8 making an estimated 550 horsepower. Think of this Cadillac as a credible rival to BMW’s M550i.
Cadillac officials say this CT6 V-Sport is specifically for driving enthusiasts who want both performance and luxury. It’s certainly a good-looking sedan, and is the kind of car even European luxury sedan shoppers would be proud to own. The V-Sport debuts in New York at the New York International Auto Show and right at about the same time a refreshed CT6 shows up at Cadillac dealers.
The powerful engine is paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive is standard. The Cadillac CT6 V-Sport will likely be a great touring sedan but, hopefully, will prioritize comfort over razor-sharp handling.
