6 Best Used Nissans Under $15,000 for 2019

Nissan has long been known for offering a variety of vehicles appealing to everyone from families to couples without kids, all of which are meant to offer good value with regard to features and price. Here, we’ll take a look at some of the best used Nissans available for around $15,000 or less.

Nissan Altima

2016-2018 Nissan Altima

The Altima is a midsize sedan offered by Nissan since the early 1990s and currently, the 2013-2018 model is readily available for around $15,000, with over 1,000 examples listed on Autotrader that would fit the bill. Just about all of these sub-$15,000 Altimas come with the smaller of the Altima’s two available engines: a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder putting out 182 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. Trim level highlights include the sporty SR model, which comes with a sport suspension, paddle shifters, 18-in wheels and a rear spoiler among other things. With the 4-cylinder engine, the Altima also gets great gas mileage, earning 31 miles per gallon in the city and 29 mpg in combined driving. Find a Nissan Altima for sale

Nissan Rogue

2017-2018 Nissan Rogue

The Rogue is Nissan’s compact SUV and is one of the top selling passenger vehicles in America. The second-generation Rogue went on sale for the 2014 model year and boasts a sculpted, mature design. From 2014 until 2017, the Rogue was even offered with a third row, for a total seating capacity of seven, which is unique in the compact SUV segment. The Rogue’s main shortcoming is its powertrain, as its 170-hp 4-cylinder is underpowered and its continuously variable transmission (CVT) is noisy and rough. Still, buyers wanting a reliable, spacious compact SUV will find a lot to love about the Rogue. There are over 800 2017 or 2018 Rogues listed on Autotrader for $15,000 or less, and around 300 of which offer all-wheel drive. Widen the search to include model years as far back as 2014, when the second-generation Rogue first went on sale, and the options balloon to well over 2,000. Find a Nissan Rogue for sale

Nissan XTerra

2005-2015 Nissan XTerra

The second-gen Xterra is a great used off-roader, and thanks to its discontinuation at the end of the 2015 model year, used examples have dropped in overall value, making it easy to pick one up for around $15,000. The Xterra competed with the likes of the Toyota 4Runner, and to an extent, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, but right now, it’s much easier to find an affordable Xterra than it is a comparable 4Runner or Wrangler. The Xterra shares components with the Frontier midsize pickup, meaning that it comes with a body-on-frame construction and a solid rear axle — both great for going off-road. Under the hood, the Xterra makes use of a strong 4.0-liter V6 engine putting out 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. Overall, a used Xterra is a great purchase for anyone looking for an affordable adventure vehicle. Currently on Autotrader, there are around 600 2005-2015 Xterras listed for around $15,000 or less, 350 of which offer four-wheel drive. There are even 47 Off-Road and Pro-4X models listed. Nissan Titan

2008-2015 Nissan Titan

The Titan is a full-size pickup. While it doesn’t sell in high volume like the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado, it does offer good reliability in a package that will work just fine for most truck buyers. The 2008-2015 Titan makes use of a 5.6-liter V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic. This allows for a towing capacity of up to 9,300 pounds, enough to comfortably tow a boat, a utility trailer or a camper. While the TItan doesn’t get the best gas mileage at 12 mpg city/17 mpg hwy, it does offer good off-road capability, thanks to the availability of the Pro-4X model, which comes with skid plates, Bilstein shock absorbers, and a locking rear differential, which is something that’s not available in the Toyota Tundra, the Titan’s closest competitor. Altogether, the Titan is a supremely capable vehicle, and while a pre-owned model won’t get good gas mileage and lacks many of the features of more modern trucks it is a great used truck value. There are currently over 300 2008-2015 Nissan Titans available on Autotrader for around $15,000 or less. Find a Nissan Titan for sale

Nissan Murano

2011-2014 Nissan Murano

The Murano is a midsize SUV offering room for five and available AWD. That said, the Murano is more about style than utility. While it isn’t quite a luxury SUV, the Murano offers an upscale design with a few upscale touches, like a Bose stereo system, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel and rain sensing windshield wipers. Reviewers generally call the Murano an agile performer relative to other midsize SUVs, praising it for its agile handling and strong engine. Overall, Nissan leaves family-hauling duties up to the 3-row crossover in its lineup, the Pathfinder. While the Murano could work for a family of up to four, it’s more geared toward couples without kids or empty-nesters. There are currently over 650 2011-2014 Muranos listed on Autotrader for around $15,000 or less; around 400 of which come with AWD. Find a Nissan Murano for sale

Nissan Juke

2015-2018 Nissan Juke

When Nissan launched the Juke in 2011, it quickly became a trendsetter in the burgeoning compact SUV market, thanks to its quirky design and spry driving characteristics. The standard Juke comes with a 1.6-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine putting out 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The Juke was also offered in performance-oriented NISMO trim, which offered 215 hp and 210 lb-ft of torque. Like the regular Juke, the NISMO is available in both FWD and AWD guise, and the FWD Juke NISMO can be had with a 6-speed manual transmission. All other Jukes come with a CVT. The Juke received an update in 2015 that introduced updated styling elements and a standard rearview camera and push button start. Overall, the Juke is unique in that it offers sports car characteristics in a compact SUV package, and there are few other vehicles like it on sale today, new or used, making it probably the most exciting out of all of the used Nissans on our list. Currently on Autotrader, buyers have over 400 2015-2018 Jukes to choose from for around $15,000 or less. Just over 100 of these offer AWD. Find a Nissan Juke for sale
