While Ford is in the process of shifting its focus from passenger cars to trucks, SUVs and the Mustang, there’s still quite a bit of variety in the brand’s lineup for the 2019 model year. Whether you’re looking for a frugal hatchback, a family sedan, a small crossover, a truck or even a sports car, Ford has a lot of attractive vehicles at even more attractive prices.
Here are the seven most affordable new Fords for 2019. All prices listed below include destination charges.
2019 Ford Mustang — $27,490
The Ford Mustang is an American icon not just for its style or performance, but because of its value. A car this fun for less than $30,000 is a great deal, especially considering how good the base engine is. It’s an EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder, which delivers a very satisfying blend of performance and fuel economy. Getting the base engine in the Mustang isn’t a compromise anymore and we dare you to try to get bored behind the wheel of an EcoBoost Mustang. That said, we still recommend upgrading to the outstanding 5.0-liter Coyote V8 if you have the budget for a Mustang GT. Find a Ford Mustang for sale
2019 Ford Ranger — $25,495
The Ford Ranger is finally back after a hiatus in the U.S. This midsize pickup is one of the most capable trucks in its class and its affordable pricing makes it a workhorse that a lot of drivers can afford. The Ranger is a no-nonsense truck, but it’s also thoroughly modern in its available technology like the SYNC 3 infotainment system. The potent engines, user-friendly features and impressive capability of the new Ranger make it a strong choice in midsize trucks. Whether you need a truck for work or just want a truck for fun, the Ranger works hard and plays hard. Find a Ford Ranger for sale
2019 Ford Transit Connect — $25,395
Ford doesn’t make minivans anymore, but the Ford Transit Connect is a compact van that can be used for either commercial or family purposes and it’s the most affordable commercial vehicle from the brand. The cargo van is the more affordable model and it’s an excellent city van for small businesses that’s available in two wheelbases. The wagon passenger van variant offers seating for up to seven with sliding doors and cargo space to boot. If you want a van that drives like a small car, the Transit Connect is a clear class leader in compact vans. Find a Ford Transit Connect for sale
2019 Ford Escape — $25,200
2019 is the final model year for the current generation of the Ford Escape, but this compact crossover is aging quite gracefully. Some SUVs in this class are a little lacking in cargo space, which kind of defeats the purpose of an SUV, but the Escape has ample cargo room. It also has powerful engines, with the base engine motor being quite efficient, plus agile handling and available all-wheel drive. The whole point of a compact crossover is SUV versatility in a small, easy-to-drive package and that’s exactly what the Ford Escape delivers. Find a Ford Escape for sale
2019 Ford Fusion — $23,835
The Ford Fusion has some tough competition in the midsize sedan segment, but still manages to stand out as a strong choice. It’s super roomy on the inside and also has a huge trunk, making it almost like a full-size sedan. It also has the great SYNC 3 infotainment system plus plenty of available tech features, which keep the Fusion modern. There’s a lot of variety under the hood of the Fusion with two efficient 4-cylinder options, a potent twin-turbo V6, and two hybrids: a conventional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid. No matter what you’re looking for in an affordable midsize sedan, there’s a Fusion out there for you. Find a Ford Fusion for sale
2019 Ford EcoSport — $21,090
The subcompact crossover segment is a hot one and the Ford EcoSport is the blue oval’s shot at a pint-sized SUV. Like the bigger Escape, cargo space is a strong suit for the EcoSport and its clever swing-out rear cargo door that opens like a regular car door is an interesting alternative to a traditional lift gate. Like many other Fords, it also has one of the most user-friendly infotainment systems among its competitors. If you like the idea of SUV ride height, but also want something really affordable, the subcompact EcoSport gives you both in one stylish crossover. Find a Ford EcoSport for sale
2019 Ford Fiesta — $15,235
The last survivor in Ford’s lineup of small cars is the Ford Fiesta subcompact, which is the only Ford you can get for less than $20,000. Available as a sedan or a hatchback, the Fiesta has long been one of our favorite subcompacts for its delightful driving character, especially in the sporty Fiesta ST, which is one of the best performance car values out there. The Fiesta is also great on gas and offers modern, user-friendly tech in a very affordable car. The Fiesta might be at the end of its line, but to the very end, it’s a small car that is big on fun and value. Find a Ford Fiesta for sale
