9 Luxury Cars You Can Afford to Buy in 2019

According to our friends at Kelley Blue Book, the average new car transaction price, based on the most recent data as of this writing, is $36,843 and the average transaction price for a luxury car is just under $60,000. However, that doesn’t mean you need to spend that much to get behind the wheel of a new luxury car or SUV.

Here are nine awesome new luxury cars that you can afford to buy in 2019. Every vehicle below has a starting MSRP of less than the average new car transaction price.

Cadillac XT4

Cadillac XT4 — $34,795

The XT4 is Cadillac’s first compact luxury crossover and it’s one of the most attractive offerings in the brand’s lineup. It has sharp styling, some of the best back-seat legroom in its class, which makes it pretty family-friendly, a potent turbocharged engine and great fuel economy. It all comes together for a very well-rounded small luxury SUV that is competitively priced. It’s a strong value, while also being genuinely luxurious without cutting corners or compromising on things like quality interior materials. Find a Cadillac XT4 for sale

Lexus UX

Lexus UX — $32,150

The Lexus UX is the luxury brand’s smallest SUV yet and it comes with a delightfully small price tag. Now Lexus’ most affordable model, the UX delivers a strong value like everything else in the Lexus lineup. A few of its strong suits include good fuel economy, a smooth, comfortable ride, and stylish design inside and out. We also really like the UX Hybrid, which starts at just $34,150 and achieves an outstanding fuel economy rating of 41 miles per gallon in the city and 38 mpg on the highway, making it an excellent urban commuter with its value proposition extending well beyond the showroom. Find a Lexus UX for sale

Mercedes-Benz A-Class

Mercedes-Benz A-Class — $32,500

The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is all-new to the U.S. for 2019 and it has quickly become one of the best values in German luxury sedans. This affordable compact car has genuine Mercedes-Benz panache with a high-end interior, handsome styling and impressive technology. It has a strong turbocharged engine and an intuitive infotainment system, both of which make the A-Class a pleasure to drive. It’s even available with all-wheel drive, which you can add while still keeping it pretty affordable. The A-Class is an excellent first step into the Mercedes-Benz brand. Find a Mercedes-Benz A-Class for sale

Acura ILX

Acura ILX — $25,900

The Acura ILX is one of the most affordable luxury cars on the market today and the only car on our list that comes in under the $30k mark. This compact sedan isn’t the sportiest or most luxurious entry-level luxury car in its class, but it is one of the strongest values. It got a nice face-lift for 2019 with a refreshed interior and exterior plus standard AcuraWatch safety tech on every model and an updated infotainment system now available with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Don’t expect the driving dynamics of a German sport sedan, but if you just want a comfortable, modern luxury sedan at a very affordable price, the ILX is a strong choice. Find a Acura ILX for sale

Buick Regal Avenir

Buick Regal Avenir — $35,270

We know Buick isn’t quite a luxury brand per se, but its new Avenir sub-brand takes its premium products and vaults them into luxury territory at reasonable prices. The newest member of the Avenir family is also the most affordable: the midsize Regal Sportback Avenir. The Avenir model is well equipped with quilt-stitched leather seats, QuietTuning technology, which helps keep the cabin quiet, a unique appearance package, a Bose premium audio and lots of standard safety tech. If you don’t mind a luxury car from a non-luxury brand, the Regal Avenir is a strong value proposition. Find a Buick Regal for sale

BMW 2 Series

BMW 2 Series — $35,300

The BMW 2 Series is a bit of a return to form for BMW. It’s a driver’s car that seamlessly blends engaging driving dynamics with modern luxury in a way that few other brands can match. The 2 Series is available as a coupe or a convertible and even at the base level, it’s a well-appointed luxury car. It can get a little pricey when you upgrade the engine, but you’ll have a hard time getting bored with the base 248-horsepower turbocharged inline four. Like in most BMW models, there’s no wrong engine choice. If you’ve always wanted a BMW, the 2 Series is a great place to start. Find a BMW 2 Series for sale

Audi Q3

Audi Q3 — $34,700

The small Audi Q3 crossover has one of the nicest interiors in its competitive class with superior fit and finish, which might make you feel like you’re in a more expensive luxury car. The interior is complemented well by this Audi’s comfortable ride quality, as well. Its small size makes it a good, maneuverable city car with SUV versatility. Add in Audi’s famous available quattro AWD system and you have a versatile luxury crossover that can take on just about any road condition comfortably. Find a Audi Q3 for sale

Genesis G70

Genesis G70 — $34,900

When Hyundai’s recently launched luxury brand Genesis came out with a compact sport sedan, it had big shoes to fill. However, the all-new G70 proved to be the sports sedan rookie of the year with outstanding performance, a premium, yet muscular look, and a well-appointed cabin, making it competitive with German rivals at a more affordable price. The base turbocharged inline-four engine is great and the available twin-turbo V6 is even greater. No matter how you configure it, the G70 is a luxurious sedan that is rewarding to drive while being comfortable to be in. Finding a luxury and performance bargain like this is a rare gem. Find a Genesis G70 for sale

Volvo XC40

Volvo XC40 — $33,700

The Volvo XC40 is another newcomer that has quickly become one of our favorites in its respective class and represents a fantastic value. The XC40 is a small, stylish new crossover from Volvo, which delivers on every front you could want from a luxury SUV. It has a strong engine, a comfortable ride, agile handling, an upscale interior and a rather striking exterior. It also has the latest technology and is still a strong value even in the higher trims with added options. However, this Volvo’s impressive list of standard features makes the base model more than adequate for most drivers further adding to the outstanding value of the XC40. Find a Volvo XC40 for sale
