We recently listed today's best certified pre-owned (CPO) warranties -- a list that considers a wide variety of categories, including warranty duration, transferability and coverage level. Today, we have something different to offer: We've rounded up the seven longest CPO warranties. This list specifically names the manufacturer-backed warranties that will cover a pre-owned car for the longest period of time. That's helpful for drivers who don't want to spend a fortune to get excellent peace of mind with their next car.

1. Porsche

Porsche's CPO warranty offers the longest coverage in the business. Although the warranty itself only offers 2 years or 50,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage from the date of purchase, Porsche's program extends that coverage to vehicles as old as 8 years -- and with up to 100,000 miles on the odometer. The result is that Porsche's CPO warranty could cover a vehicle with up to 150,000 miles, or one that's up to 10 years old. The long warranty is proof that few automakers stand behind their product as comprehensively as Porsche.

2. Lexus

Although Porsche's plan is excellent, Lexus CPO coverage is almost as impressive. That's because the high-end automaker boasts up to 3 years or 100,000 miles of coverage for any CPO vehicle. And since Lexus CPO coverage is available for cars as old as 6 years -- with up to 70,000 miles on the odometer -- it means a CPO Lexus could be up to 9 years old and have a whopping 170,000 miles under its belt. As a result, we highly recommend the Lexus CPO warranty to shoppers interested in longevity.

3. Hyundai/Kia

Hyundai and Kia's impressive CPO warranty is largely an extension of their original factory warranty: It boasts 5 years or 60,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage from the original sale date and an excellent 10 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage. That 10-year coverage is particularly impressive from a mainstream automaker rather than a high-end luxury brand like the others on our list.

4. Volvo

Volvo's CPO warranty is among the best in the business, as it offers 7 years or 100,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage from the car's original sale date. While that means you won't get much warranty coverage on a 5-year-old car -- or one with 75,000 or 80,000 miles already on the odometer -- the program is best used on a 3- or 4-year-old Volvo that's just out of its original factory warranty. In that case, the CPO program is actually better than Volvo's new-car warranty. It is absolutely worth a look for shoppers interested in long-lasting, comprehensive warranty coverage.

5. Jaguar/Land Rover

CPO warranty coverage offered by Jaguar and sister brand Land Rover is almost as impressive as Volvo's 7-year, 100,000-mile coverage plan. In fact, it's nearly the same warranty, though it's missing an extra year. Instead, it covers vehicles for a still-impressive 6 years or 100,000 miles from their original sale date. That means a 3-year-old Jaguar or Land Rover with 40,000 miles on the clock will be under warranty for the next 3 years and 60,000 miles -- good peace of mind for an expensive luxury car with pricey parts.

6. Lincoln

We're impressed with Lincoln's CPO plan, which offers the same excellent 6-year, 100,000-mile coverage as Jaguar or Land Rover. Our only complaint: There's a $100 deductible. Otherwise, Lincoln's comprehensive warranty shows that the high-end automaker truly stands behind its increasingly luxurious products. It's also worth noting that Lincoln claims to offer a 200-point inspection of all CPO cars, which is a more comprehensive checkup than any other automaker.

7. Infiniti

Infiniti's CPO program is largely similar to those offered by Lincoln, Jaguar, and Land Rover: It boasts 6 years or 100,000 miles of comprehensive coverage from the car's original sale date. Unfortunately, it includes a $50 deductible and only covers cars as old as 4 years, while rivals expand their warranties to slightly older models. Still, we'd happily buy a CPO Infiniti to take advantage of the brand's impressive long-term warranty coverage.
