CPO Deals: November 2017

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a new car, but you’re concerned about the potential repair bills often associated with used vehicles, you might want to consider a certified pre-owned (CPO) model. CPO vehicles are lightly used cars that boast major discounts from their new price — while simultaneously offering long, manufacturer-backed warranties for peace of mind. Most importantly, many automakers offer CPO deals and incentives to help entice car shoppers to consider their certified pre-owned vehicles instead of models from another brand. To show you what we mean, we’ve rounded up a few of the top deals and special offers available this month on several top certified pre-owned programs — and a few of our favorite used vehicles.

Buick Encore    Buick Enclave    Buick LaCrosse

Buick Encore, Enclave, LaCrosse

Buick’s certified pre-owned program offers two impressive warranties. The most alluring is a 6-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty that covers vehicles from the original sale date — but Buick also offers a 1-year/12,000-mile comprehensive warranty that’s valid from the date you purchase the car, or the date the factory comprehensive warranty expires. In November, qualified shoppers interested in certified pre-owned versions of the Encore, Enclave and LaCrosse can get those warranties, and also an impressive incentive: Buick is touting 1.9 percent interest on certified pre-owned versions of those models for up to 36 months.

Cadillac SRX

Cadillac’s certified pre-owned warranty offers 6-year/100,000-mile comprehensive coverage, which is excellent for a high-end automaker. In November, Cadillac’s excellent warranty coverage is supplemented by another excellent offer: Through the end of the month, a certified pre-owned SRX is available with 2.9 percent interest for up to 36 months, which is a good deal for a used model. It’s also a great offer for shoppers interested in the SRX, which is a comfortable, capable midsize crossover that rivals the Lexus RX and Acura MDX.

Ford’s certified pre-owned program is similar to many other mainstream automakers, as it offers 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty coverage from the original sale date, or comprehensive coverage for one year or 12,000 miles beyond the factory warranty. The only big difference is deductible, as Ford’s CPO program has a rather high deductible of $100 per visit. But in November, it boasts a pretty good deal that lessens the impact of that deductible. Through the end of the month, Ford’s CPO program is offered with excellent interest rates for qualified shoppers, touting 1.9 percent interest for 36 months, 2.9 percent for 60 months or 3.9 percent for 72 months. All three are an alluring addition to Ford’s long warranty.

Infiniti’s certified pre-owned warranty is one of our favorites, as it offers six years of comprehensive coverage with no mileage limit on most models — something that few other brands are willing to offer. And this month, Infiniti’s CPO warranty is even more impressive than usual, because of an enticing incentive Infiniti is offering: Through the end of the month, the automaker is offering 1.25 percent interest for qualified shoppers on all certified pre-owned Infiniti models, which is a great deal — especially for a used vehicle.

Kia’s certified pre-owned program offers additional bumper-to-bumper warranty coverage, along with 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain protection. In November, Kia’s CPO program also offers an excellent interest rate to qualified shoppers looking for a good deal: Throughout the month, Kia is offering 1.9 percent interest for up to 36 months on all certified pre-owned models. While 36 months isn’t a very long financing term, it’s worth noting that 1.9 percent is a great rate for a used vehicle — especially with a long warranty.

Range Rover Evoque

Land Rover’s CPO program is among the very best, as it offers a 7-year/100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty from the original sale date. In November, Land Rover’s CPO program also offers excellent incentives on the Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover’s desirable compact crossover. The best deal is for qualified shoppers looking to finance an Evoque for 24 months, as Land Rover is offering 0.9 percent interest. Otherwise, drivers can get 1.9 percent interest for up to 60 months on certified pre-owned 2014 and 2015 Evoque models, or 2.9 percent on 2013 and 2016 versions of the popular crossover.

Subaru’s certified pre-owned program boasts an excellent powertrain warranty, offering 7-year/100,000-mile coverage from the original sale date — better than many rival automakers. Unfortunately, Subaru’s CPO program doesn’t add any additional bumper-to-bumper coverage — but we’re still recommending it this month thanks to an excellent incentive offered to qualified shoppers. Through the end of November, Subaru is touting 1.49 percent interest for up to 36 months for all certified pre-owned models, which is a great deal for shoppers looking for a used Subaru.

Volkswagen’s certified pre-owned warranty adds two years or 24,000 miles of coverage to the original factory warranty on any Volkswagen. That’s an appealing warranty — and in November, Volkswagen is sweetening the pot. Through the end of the month, Volkswagen is touting a low-interest offer, available to qualified shoppers, that boasts 1.99 percent interest for up to 60 months for all certified pre-owned models. Not only is that an impressive rate, but it’s a long term for such a rate to be valid on a used vehicle.
