Owners have been accessorizing their Jeeps since the brand was born 70 years ago, but the 2011 Jeep Wrangler Mojave, takes customizing to a sophisticated level. The newest special edition model pays tribute to an off-roaders’ paradise–the Mojave Trail–with a desert themed exterior and interior design. The special edition model was created in response to Jeep enthusiasts looking for factory-customized vehicles.
The Mojave follows other enhanced Jeep Wrangler models such as: Islander, Mountain and Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition. The special limited edition Wranglers have enabled the company to introduce new sectors of consumers to the brand.
For example, the tropical-themed Islander Edition was launched at the Detroit Auto Show in 2010 following a 20-year hiatus. The model, an iteration of the YJ Islander available in the 1980’s and 90’s, featured a “Tiki Bob” decal on the hood with longitude and latitude coordinates and Moab 17-inch wheels with 32-inch tires.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Edition, also launched in October of 2010, featured graphics from its companion Xbox 360 video game of the same name. That model had Black Ops graphics on the roof and front quarter panels, along with standard 32-inch off-road tires.
The Jeep Wrangler Mojave gives a nod to the Mojave Trail, a rugged span of 138 miles stretching from Laughlin, Nevada to Afton Canyon near Barstow, California. The trail tackles rugged hill climbs, canyons, sand and river crossings. In other words, it’s got all the landscapes that Jeep lovers crave.
The Jeep Wrangler Mojave picks up the desert theme with body-colored hardtop and fender flares decorated with the Mojave logo and lizard decals on the hood and rear. The aggressive tire and wheel package features mineral gray 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires.
On the inside, handsome dark saddle leather seats are imprinted with the same lizard motif. Driftwood surrounds the vents, front passenger grab handles, steering wheel spokes and door-handle inserts.
The Jeep Wrangler Mojave is available in Sahara Tan, Bright White and Black. It will be available in June at a MSRP of $29,195 plus destination.
