If you've ever searched for a used exotic car, you've undoubtedly found many -- if not all -- used exotic cars have very low miles. There's a reason for that. Exotic cars are impractical and finicky, which means they're not easy to drive every day -- and most exotic-car owners have large collections, which makes it difficult to add many miles to any one specific vehicle.

But even among exotic cars, the five vehicles on this list are exceptional. These five exotic cars are currently listed on Autotrader with really low miles -- and while I'm a big proponent of letting people do what they want, even if it means never driving their cars ... these are rather extreme. Without further ado, the list of five incredibly low-mileage exotic cars for sale on Autotrader.

2003 BMW Z8 Alpina

2003 BMW Z8 Alpina -- 6 Miles

Of all five cars on this list, this one is the most ridiculous: It's a 2003 BMW Z8 Alpina with just 6 miles. This is not a typo. The Carfax report shows that the car was sold on April 25, 2003, by BMW of Concord in Concord, California, with 3 miles on the odometer -- and then the next report to Carfax was when it was listed for sale a few weeks ago with just 5 miles by Marshall Goldman Motors in Cleveland, where it's currently available. Apparently, it then went on a crazy one-mile joyride. The especially unusual thing is that the Alpina Z8 isn't the most desirable model: It ditched the standard Z8's desirable stick shift for an automatic in the name of "luxury," and its wheels are tremendously opinion-splitting. Still, if you're looking for the ultimate Z8, here it is: an example from the final model year, with just 6 miles. Of course, it's priced like the ultimate Z8: Marshall Goldman Motors is asking $595,900 for it.

2005 Ford GT

2005 Ford GT -- 287 Miles

In the wide world of cars that have been dramatically over-"saved" with low mileage, the Ford GT has to be the reigning king. I see more of these with very low miles than I do with any sort of reasonable mileage -- but this is one of the lower-mileage examples I've found. It's a 2005 GT, finished in an unusual silver with black stripes, with just 287 miles on the odometer. The Carfax report says it was sold new in 2007 to an owner in Glendale, Arizona, and driven very sparingly throughout the years: In December 2016, it had just 110 miles on the odometer. At that point, someone decided to take it out for a spin (GASP!), and added an additional 177 miles, bringing the total to 287, where it stands today. Asking price for a 287-mile Ford GT? $359,900, from Fusion Luxury Motors in the Los Angeles suburb of Chatsworth, California.

2004 Lamborghini Murcielago

2004 Lamborghini Murcielago -- 202 Miles

Among the cars on this list, this is probably the most unusual example: a 2004 Lamborghini Murcielago with just 202 miles. I say this because the Lamborghini Murcielago isn't some ultra-rare collectible, as thousands were built over a decade of production -- and because most people buy crazy-looking, wedge-shaped Lamborghini models to drive, since that's largely the point of the car. Nonetheless, this one didn't drive: It was sold new in September 2004 in Addison, Illinois, with around 70 miles on the odometer, and apparently it has sat largely untouched since then. It's now for sale at Motorcars by Bill Nuccio in the Chicago suburbs for $199,000 -- big money for an early Murcielago, but probably reasonable when you consider it's likely the last "new" example left.

2005 Porsche 911 Turbo S

2005 Porsche 911 Turbo S -- 193 Miles

Like the Murcielago above it, this 911 Turbo S is an unusual car to have such few miles. That's largely because the 911 Turbo S -- and especially the "996" variant, which is traditionally maligned by Porsche enthusiasts -- is hardly a vintage Ferrari-style collectible, as Porsche built tens of thousands of 996 models from 1999 to 2005 (even if relatively few were the rare "Turbo S" variant). Still, this one has covered just 193 miles in 12 years: It was sold new in the New York exurb of Denville, New Jersey, until the next owner in South Carolina got it in 2013 with just under 170 miles. That owner unloaded it after just a few years (and just 20 more miles), and it's now offered by Marshall Goldman Motors for $298,900 -- huge money for a 996 of any variety but, again, possibly reasonable if you want to get your hands on the very last new one left.

2005 Porsche Carrera GT

2005 Porsche Carrera GT -- 887 Miles

Compared to the other cars on this list, this 2005 Porsche Carrera GT is incredibly high mileage, with a whopping 887 miles currently registered on the odometer. But when you take it out of the context of these companions, the mileage is still amazingly low: It's traveled less than 1,000 miles over more than a decade. Sold new by a Philadelphia-area Porsche dealer into Greenwich, Connecticut, this Carrera GT was exercised surprisingly frequently, with the 887 miles seemingly added in a linear fashion. It just wasn't exercised for very long trips: It had 310 miles by 2009, 577 by 2011, and 813 when the owner moved it down to Florida in 2014. Today, it's one of the lowest-mileage Carrera GT models on sale in the entire country -- and it's offered by Prestige Imports in the Miami area for a whopping $829,950.
